3 hospitalized after reports of gunfire at South Florida’s Aventura Mall


Three people were taken to the hospital after police responded to reports of shots fired this afternoon at Aventura Mall, just outside Miami, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, NBC 6 South Florida reported.

“We have several suspects involved in custody and being question by Detectives,” Aventura Police tweeted. “We have 3 victims who have sustained NON- life threatening injuries and out being treated at local hospitals.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was shot and police haven’t confirmed that a shooting took place, according to NBC 6 South Florida.

Customers and employees hid in stores, closets, and storage rooms, according to Local 10 News.

A man was arrested in May 2020 for allegedly shooting two people at the mall, after an argument broke out in the Nordstrom men’s department at the Aventura Mall, according to Local 10 News.
