Barcelona are ‘prepared to pay up to €60m’ for Real Betis star Nabil Fekir – as president Joan Laporta plans for a BIG summer of spending at the Nou Camp

Barcelona President Joan Laporta is said to be readying a summer bid for Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir.

 Fekir joined the Seville-based club from Lyon back in 2019, and has gone on to score 19 goals in his 100 appearances in all competitions for ‘Los Verdiblancos’ – with 16 of them coming in La Liga.

With the Frenchman settled into the style of the Spanish league, rumours have emerged of Barcelona’s proposed interest in the creative French midfielder.

 According to Sport, Barça could be prepared to pay up to €60 million to try and sign him, although Betis would not sell for less than €80m.

Fekir has enjoyed a stellar season with Betis, alongside Sergio Canales and Juanmi the Frenchman has excelled and helped the Greens rise up to third in the league table – two places above Laporta’s side.

The 28-year-old has spent most of his career in France, having come through the Lyon youth system, where he ended up making over 190 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

The Catalan giants enjoyed a successful January transfer window, bringing in Premier League stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore – with the former Gunner in line to make his full debut on Sunday night.

The forward joined the Barcelona on a free transfer on deadline day, after being stripped of the captaincy at Arsenal and frozen out following a breach of discipline by Mikel Arteta. 

The Gabon international donned the Blaugrana for the first time at the weekend as he came of the bench during Barcelona’s 4-2 triumph over LaLiga rivals Atletico Madrid.
