The Foreign Secretary will be meeting with vice president of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič on Thursday for their first face-to-face talks.
Ahead of their meeting, Truss took a hard line approach, indicating she plans to stick up for Britons if the EU refuses to budge, saying: “I will trigger Article 16 if the EU does not cooperate.”
Welcoming the comments, Express.co.uk reader Emma Grate said: “The European Union is financially insecure.
“If we can’t get a beneficial deal on our terms now we never will.
“The best option is WTO no control from the EU whatsoever.”
