Celtic footballer Alexandro Bernabei has been arrested in the early hours for alleged drink-driving.
The 21-year-old Argentine defender moved to the Scottish champions from Lanus this summer for a fee of £3.75million on a five year deal.
Yet to make a competitive appearance for the Parkhead side the left-back was pulled over in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of Monday morning after he was named as a substitute in Sunday’s 5-0 win over Kilmarnock.
A Police Scotland statement read: ‘A 21-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning, Monday, 15 August in Glasgow City Centre. Enquiries are ongoing.’
Bernabei was one of a number of permanent signings made this summer as competition for Scotland international Greg Taylor.

Bernabei became the first-ever Argentine to join the Scottish side earlier this summer and was expected to eventually replace Taylor long-term.
‘I’m very happy to be here and I feel grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity,’ he told Celtic TV after joining.
‘I feel proud to be playing in Europe because it was one of my dreams and I’m excited to train with and play with my new team-mates.

‘The stadium is just incredible. The people, the club, team-mates, and the coaching staff are all incredible.
‘I’m very excited and happy and I can’t wait to be playing in the Champions League. I’ve heard that the people are crazy, so I can’t wait to sense that feeling and emotion in Celtic Park.’
Bernabei was one of a number of signings this summer, as boss Ange Postecoglou also snapped up the likes of Aaron Mooy, Benji Siegrist and Moritz Jenz.
He also completed permanent deals for Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Daizen Maeda this summer.
