Venus is Retrograde in Capricorn and sextiling Neptune in Pisces this week, bringing love and luxury to us all. However, this powerful transit isn’t without its downsides. Express.co.uk reveals your horoscope, star sign reading, astrology and zodiac forecast for January 5.

The main event today is Venus Retrograde sextile Neptune, and this loving transit will last until Saturday.

Astrology King said: “Venus Retrograde sextile Neptune brings passion, romance and glamour and luxury.

“Increased sensuality and popularity make this an excellent weekly horoscope for socialising and dating.

“This is also a good time for artistic and other creative work.”

Astrology.com describes the Venus-Neptune sextile as the “star of this week’s show”.

The combination of earthy Capricorn (Venus) and watery Pisces (Neptune) encourages us to be receptive to the big “what if?”.

The site explains: “When lovely retrograding Venus meets up with Neptune, there is sure to be a whirlwind of boundless magic.

“Venus has been busy reconsidering its Capricornian-infused values of love, partnerships, and money.

“So, the sextile with Neptune adds a mystical flair as Neptune encourages the regressing planet to remain hopeful even in its mindful state.”

This transit isn’t perfect though, with flaky Pisces in dreamy Neptune potentially causing cold feet or a ‘head in the clouds’ vibe.

Astrology.com said: “Neptune can be overly idealistic in Pisces, which may skew the earthy Venus retrograde’s realistic perception.

“For this reason, it may not be the best transit to commit to new Venusian ventures in love, money, and partnerships.

“But it is a wonderful transit to daydream about such beautiful things!

“As you go through this sextile, try to find the balance between the fantastical and the practical.”

The Moon is in humanitarian Aquarius today, only moving into empathetic Pisces just after midnight.

Attraction to all that is new and unusual and an instinctive need for improvement characterise the Moon in Aquarius.

Cafe Astrology explained: “Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal under this influence.

“This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes.

“We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future.

“It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.”

The Moon in Aquarius generally favours the following activities:

  • Unusual or radical undertakings
  • Social pursuits
  • Group projects
  • Trying something new
  • Joining a group

However, after midnight the Moon in Pisces is aligning with Jupiter in Pisces, which Cafe Astrology said will “magnify and expand our compassionate feelings.”

The site adds: “We’re reaching for our joy, and we are seeking to grow, develop, and improve, primarily through embracing our feelings, compassion, or downtime.”
