The Blues won the FIFA tournament for the first time in their history by beating Palmeiras 2-1 after extra-time in the final – and have since returned to the UK buoyed on by their achievement ahead of the season run-in.
And with the first-team squad not playing until the weekend, various members of Thomas Tuchel’s squad were seen partying in a west London Japanese restaurant – including Romelu Lukaku, N’Golo Kante, Reece James and Edouard Mendy.

The restaurant also turns into a dance venue as the night progresses, with a DJ turning up the fun at Sumosan Twiga, which stays open until 1am.
Among the Chelsea invitees was defender Antonio Rudiger, who has been strongly linked with a move away from the club as his contract expiry date arrives in June this year.
Captain Cesar Azpilicueta was also seen in a joyous mood at the Tuesday night event, with the Spaniard’s future far from secure despite lifting the Club World Cup over the weekend.

Goalkeeper Mendy, who missed the start of the Club World Cup campaign as he was on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal, was seen back in London for the first time since leaving for AFCON and his return will be a boost to the rest of Chelsea’s season.
Chelsea’s next match sees them travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday in the Premier League, meaning the players have plenty of time to recover from the night out in the capital as they look to solidify their place in the top four.
