Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchliffe, rose to fame on social media several years ago when she started sharing unusual cleaning tips and tricks. Since then, her fans have shared their own finds on dedicated Facebook forums, including how to clean burnt pans.

Asking for advice on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one woman asked group members on top tips for removing burn marks from her frying pan.

Allyson Pearson wrote: “Any idea on what will clean my cast iron pan?

“It’s burnt on and I’ve scrubbed it lots but it’s not working.”

The cleaning fan shared a photo of her pan which showed dark burn marks on the bottom as well as lighter marks around the edge.

Sharing advice onto the same cleaning page, fans also explained how to clean oven trays.

Courtney Andrews wrote: “Hi here, just thought I’d share an easy cleaning tip that my nan passed down to my dad and he’s just taught me.

“I fill one cup of washing powder (I’m currently using DAZ) and then fill it with water from the kettle I’ve just boiled.

“Run the hot water on it for five minutes while completely scrubbing and rinsing away the powder residue with a scourer.

“Once fully rinsed, squirt one drop of washing up liquid and rinse again with a clean scourer.

“Rinse thoroughly and dry.”

Courtney shared a series of different photos to show the cleaning process, removing all the dirt and grime.

She added: “We’ve just cooked a chicken, roasties, parsnips and carrots in this.”
