Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has reportedly told star struck football supporters that he will ‘play here in Spain’ whilst enjoying a holiday in Marbella.

Haaland took the chance to get away from his hectic campaign during the trip, but is said to have shed light on his next move as he prepares to walk away from his club.

According to AS, fans approached the in-demand superstar and questioned him on his future, to which he revealed he would be heading abroad to LaLiga.

The quotes, if true, would come as a major boost to both Real Madrid and Barcelona, who hold a keen interest in the frontman and are firmly in the chase to sign him.

Haaland has a house in Spain, as his agent Mino Raiola has revealed, and the latest indications are that Madrid find themselves in pole position currently.

Barcelona are on the hunt for a marquee signing after Lionel Messi left, while Madrid lead the top-flight and will pitch their glamourous project to the Norway ace.

Any swoop would likely be affordable for the Bernabeu giants, too, with Haaland believed to have a release clause in his contract worth just £64million.

Ferran Torres arrived at Barcelona for £55million, meanwhile, and it is unclear how much money the club have left to splash out on the prolific marksman.

Manchester City and Manchester United’s hopes of landing Haaland look to have been scuppered by his reported words in Marbella.

Just this morning, it was claimed that City will put the money they earned from selling Torres towards their mega-deal for Haaland.

But while his valuation may not prove a stumbling block for them, they will be forced to match his sizeable wage demands.

A report in The Mirror suggested that Haaland would expect to earn more than City’s best-paid player, Kevin De Bruyne – who banks £400,000-per-week.

It has been reported that the striker’s future will be decided by the end of February.
