Prince Harry has not met with his grandmother since Prince Philip’s funeral in April, as the Duke of Sussex is believed not to have met with her during his brief visit to the UK in July. Meghan Markle has not set foot in the country since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially stepped down from the Royal Family in March 2020. But a special service of thanksgiving in memory of Prince Philip could serve as the perfect occasion to reunite with the Queen, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed.

Speaking to GB News, Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The Sussexes have been making their own life.

“They see it as finding freedom abroad. In the next year, I would suggest, obviously, the thanksgiving service for the Duke is an opportunity for reconciliation.

“Also, Harry might like to look again at the deadline because there isn’t an official one, he could change it if he wished, for his autobiography.

“That would not be helpful, it would be very difficult because you know that’s going to come out. It’s very difficult to know what you say to someone who’s writing it.”

The Duke of Sussex is expected to release his official memoir sometime in 2022.

The year will also mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, during which Her Majesty and the Royal Family will celebrate her 70th year on the throne.

Prince Harry said he would focus his attention on his life as a member of the Royal Family and his experience in the build-up to his departure from the institution.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their roles citing a desire to become financially independent.
