'He's just wrong!' Ian Blackford humiliated as Boris Johnson dismantles SNP attack

In a fiery Prime Minister’s Questions, the SNP Westminster leader claimed the UK has the worst record of poverty and income inequality in northwestern Europe as he claimed the SNP are doing all they can to “mitigate” damage caused by the Conservative party. But the claims were met with fury by Boris Johnson who appeared to slap down the allegations.

Mr Blackford said: “We have had the year of Tory sleaze but now we have the year of Tory squeeze for family budgets.

“Economists have warned that UK living standards will worsen in 2022.

“But the poorest households are hit by Tory cuts, tax hikes, and soaring inflation driven by his Government’s policy!”

“Under this Prime Minister this country has the worst inequality and poverty in northwest Europe.”

But Mr Johnson held no punches as he launched straight back at Mr Blackford for being “just wrong” in his claims.

The Prime Minister claimed: “His fundamental point is just wrong, he is just wrong!

“If you look at the statistics in the country, economic inequality is down, poverty is down!”

He slammed: “I tell you why, because we get people into work, we get people into jobs!”
