Mrs Hinch – real name Sophie Hinchliffe – regularly shares unusual cleaning tips and tricks online. Now with more than four million social media followers, her fans often share their own hacks on dedicated Facebook pages, including how to get rid of mould in showers and bathrooms.

Andrew Boorn said: “HG mould spray, but it has a strong smell, we dry ours off first, spray on and leave all day, then rinse off, always seems to work. Other option is to replace the sealant.”

Delilah Russo wrote: “HG remover and leave it in for several hours.”

Merissa Paskin added: “HG mould remover is good stuff. Bleach on cotton balls overnight.”

Linda Newcombe simply said: “HG mould spray.”

HG mould spray seemed, therefore, to be a popular choice when it comes to removing mould, costing only £5 from Tesco.

Other cleaning methods Mrs Hinch fans recommended were other mould-removing products, as well as bleach.

Karen Hilton wrote: “Cif mould.”

Lesley Fawcett said: “Cilit Bang Mould and Mildew spray.”

Gemma Evans posted an image of a gel called Mould Magic, and others agreed with her that the product “really works”.

Kiley Hykin wrote: “I used this too. It really works.”

Gemma added: “Amazing isn’t it.”

Steve Eccles commented: “Best stuff I’ve come across.”

Meanwhile, other Mrs Hinch fans recommended removing the sealant altogether.

Alison Gibson wrote: “Renew the sealant.”

Keya Nicks agreed, saying: “Pull it off and start again.”
