The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge delighted royal watchers on Friday evening by releasing a previously unseen image. The picture shared on the couple’s official Twitter account shows Kate and William sitting next to one another in the back of a car holding hands and beaming at the camera.
The adorable snap was taken when Kate and William attended the London premiere of the new James Bond film in September.
The post was accompanied with a message of goodwill for 2022.
It read: “Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!”
In the photograph, William is dressed immaculately in a black tuxedo with a bow tie, while Kate stunned in an embellished gold cape dress.
In the intimate moment, the couple are seen grinning from ear-to-ear as Kate gently leans into William holding his left hand.
One Twitter user, @RoyallyBelle, wrote: “Omggggg the cutest couple!! Adore this pic.”
Another, @loveforcambridg, wrote: “Omg look at our beautiful Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. This is the best way to end 2021 without a doubt!
“Thank you so much for this amazing surprise @KensingtonRoyal. Wishing a happy and healthy new year to these two and their lovely kids.”
They were joined for the festivities by some members of the Middleton family.
Kate hosted a community carol service called Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, which was aired on December 24.
During the service, the Duchess surprised viewers by playing the piano and accompanied pop star Tom Walker for a special performance.
The talented mother-of-three has gained her grade three piano and grade five theory.
Kate also delivered a speech and paid tribute to the “inspirational” people who have served their communities during the “bleak time” of the pandemic.
Kate said: “We wanted to say a huge thank you to all those amazing people out there who have supported their communities.
“We also wanted to recognise those whose struggles perhaps have been less visible too.”
