LAFC star Jose Cifuentes tracked by English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, as Seagulls look to strengthen its squad before end of transfer window

  • Jose Cifuentes has been watched by several European teams this this summer

LAFC might be the victims of the latest MLS to Europe departure in the near future. LA midfielder 23 year old Jose Cifuentes is currently being watched closely by Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton are one of multiple European clubs that have been tracking Cifuentes and the Seagulls appear to be the most eager to make a bid for the Ecuadorian international.

He has recorded seven goals & six assists in 24 MLS appearances this so far this season.

Through three seasons in LA he has recorded a total of  13 goals and 15 assist through 59 appearances.

Cifuentes would become the fourth member of the Ecuadorian national team to wear a Brighton jersey if a transfer does come to fruition. 

His international teammates fellow midfielders Jeremy Sarmiento, Mosies Caicedo, and right back Pervis Estupinan who recently signed from Villarreal all call Brighton home already.

Brighton finished ninth in the premier league last season, netting the clubs first finish above mid table since Graham Potter’s squad were promoted from the English Championship following the 2016 season.

The Seagulls had spent the previous four season fighting to avoid relegation and will certainly look to stay in the top half of the league again this season.

Brighton have also shown interest in signing Chelsea midfielder and Scottish international Billy Gilmour after he appears to have been left out of the first team by manager Thomas Tuchel.
