Lorient have been forced to call off their Ligue 1 home clash with Lyon this Sunday because their pitch has been deemed unsafe for the players.
The two French sides were preparing to lock horns in their second league match of the season, but the game has subsequently been postponed to an unconfirmed date in the future.
On Friday, the Stade du Moustoir failed a pitch inspection carried out by Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), who chose to call off the match due to health and safety concerns.

The ground’s pitch has been subjected to scorching heatwaves all week and has played host to several events at the Lorient Celtic Festival, which has been running since last Friday.
The French club have ultimately paid the price for hosting the local festival in tandem with the start of the new Ligue 1 campaign.
An official statement from the French governing body read: ‘The LFP Competitions Committee decided on Friday to postpone the match between FC Lorient and Olympique Lyonnais to a later date.
The French side beat Rennes 1-0 last week but their stadium has since failed a pitch inspection
The Stade du Moustoir has hosted several events at the Lorient Celtic Festival since last Friday
‘The commission noted that the current state of the pitch at Stade du Moustoir did not ensure the safety of the players.
‘As a result, the LFP Competitions Committee decided to postpone the meeting.’
According to Ouest France, the Lorient supporters are ‘disappointed’ by the ‘unprecedented situation’.
Meanwhile, Lyon released a statement to describe Lorient’s pitch as ‘disastrous’, clearly disgruntled by the nature of the enforced postponement.
Both sides began their Ligue 1 campaigns with wins last weekend, as Lyon beat Ajaccio 2-1 and Lorient scored a 1-0 upset against Rennes.
