The road is closed in both directions, across all lanes. Road users have been advised to use alternative routes. They have also been advised of “strong rain and high winds” as a result of Storm Franklin.
According to North West Motorway Police, no injuries have been reported.
It tweeted: “Due to an overturned LGV we have a full closure on the M60 Barton Bridge J10 to J11.
“Thankfully – no injuries reported – all traffic being taken off at J11 and J10.”
Providing an update on the incident, local traffic monitoring account Transport for Greater Manchester added: “FULL CLOSURE on M60 between J10 and J11, in both directions, due to an overturned vehicle.
“Please seek an alternative route.
“Strong rain & high winds with storm Franklin.
“Remember: Lights on! Wipers on! & Take extra care!”
In a further update posted just after 7am, National Highways North-West said: “The #M60 in #Manchester is now closed in both directions between J10 and J11 due to an overturned vehicle which has come to rest on the central reservation.”
