Brooklyn Nets made INSANE demand for Kevin Durant from the Boston Celtics…  asking for both Jayson Tatum AND Jaylen Brown before making a revised offer

  • Nets GM Sean Marks asked for Boston’s two best players in exchange for Durant
  • Durant met with owners demanding a trade or the firing of Marks & Steve Nash
  • Meanwhile, trade demands to Boston are deemed too high for the Celtics

Nets general manager Sean Marks has a predicament on his hands after star forward Kevin Durant demanded a move away from Brooklyn.

Durant has a few preferred destinations in mind – with Eastern Conference rivals Boston and Philadelphia at the top of the list.

The Celtics in particular have been interested in acquiring the 12-time All-Star and are mulling over an offer or two from the Nets.

However, the initial proposal sent to them by the Nets could be considered outrageous despite Durant’s stature and legendary status.

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, Brooklyn initially attempted to snag both of Boston’s best players – forward Jayson Tatum and guard Jaylen Brown – in return for Durant.

That was shot down almost immediately, with Celtics general manager Brad Stevens unwilling to part with both the 24-year old Tatum and 25-year old Brown in return for a 33-year old Durant.

Tatum is widely considered to be untouchable for Boston, after the Eastern Conference Finals MVP earned his first All-NBA first team selection this year.

Brown, however, has been mentioned in follow-up offers from the Nets.

Rumors saying the last Nets trade offer centered on Brown, along with reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, and a haul of future first-round draft picks.

Celtics insiders say that deal was also rejected.

The Nets might be more eager now to make a move to get Durant out of Brooklyn, following an ultimatum the forward issued Nets owner Joe Tsai.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Durant told Tsai that he had two options: either fire Marks and head coach Steve Nash, or trade him.

Tsai took to Twitter following the information release, saying, ‘Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.’

The Nets were swept by the Boston Celtics in the first-round of last year’s NBA Playoffs.
