Prince William remembers yearly Christmas walk with Prince Philip – ‘Very soothing’

As part of the Time To Walk series produced by Apple Fitness+, the Duke of Cambridge was asked to take a stroll around the Sandringham Estate and share some memories along the way. Time To Walk hopes to push people to go for a walk as it has been proved walking regularly can help ease symptoms related to chronic mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

According to the podcast, Prince Charles himself used to try and force Harry and William to get out of the house for a walk.

William added: “We weren’t really having any of this.

“When you get older, you appreciate it a lot more.”

Prince William opened up about spending Christmas Day at Sandringham with his family every year in his episode.

He particularly remembered the walk from the royal estate to the St Mary Magdalene Church, where they would attend a Christmas service.

The Duke said: “Walking along here, you’ve got big pine trees that are quite synonymous with this part of Norfolk.

“And I love the smell of pine in the winter.

“It’s very soothing.”

“I have had the giggles many, many times in the service.

“Luckily, no one’s filming it.

“So you can get away with it, and on Christmas Day, it’s fun to have a giggle and enjoy yourself.”
