Report claims Ralf Rangnick has told Manchester United chiefs Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are NOT good enough to be playing for the club… with the German insisting defensive trio need replacing

- Reports claim he told chiefs Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw aren’t good enough
- Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another player he believes needs replacing
- German has been impressed by Fred and recommended Wolves’ Max Kilman
Ralf Rangnick has reportedly told the hierarchy at Manchester United that Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are not good enough for the club.
The German – who has replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his sacking in November – will remain as interim boss until the end of the season before taking up two-year consultancy role at Old Trafford.
Some of his job in that 24-month period will consist of identifying and critiquing talent, but 90min via the Daily Express claim the 63-year-old has already done that with some of the current first-team stars.

The report claims Rangnick tore his team’s defence to shreds during a presentation to club chiefs earlier this month, and recommended major changes – including replacing the captain and two full-backs – be implemented.
The news would have come as a shock to United’s hierarchy, who reportedly believed as recently as last summer that the club could compete to finish in the Champions League places this season.
But it is also a bitter pill to swallow for £80million club record signing Harry Maguire, who along with £50m right-back Wan-Bissaka and £30m left-back Shaw have struggled with form and injuries this season.
He also reportedly believes right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka needs replacing at the club
Rangnick has also reportedly recommended replacements in the form of Wolves centre-back Max Kilman, who has been in fine form at Molineux this season.
RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara is believed to have also been mentioned, but he has now emerged as Newcastle’s No 1 midfield target this month, with the Mali international also capable of operating in defence.
However, Rangnick is also believed to have delivered a more positive report on other members of the current squad who have made an impression on him, including under-fire midfielder Fred.
The German is said to have recommended the signing of Wolves defender Max Kilman
Rangnick’s presentation reportedly came as a result of current director of football John Murtough’s eagerness for the German to become a fundamental part of the club’s recruitment structure and to brainstorm ideas with new chief executive Richard Arnold.
England internationals Maguire and Shaw could however return to the side against Brentford despite Rangnick’s assessment, with the centre-back only making the bench against Aston Villa following an injury while the latter served a one-game suspension.
Wan-Bissaka meanwhile is likely to miss out, with United confirming he is still suffering the same illness which ruled him out of the 2-2 draw at Villa Park.
Rangnick however has been impressed by some United stars, including the under-fire Fred
