Swedish royals furiously deny divorce and betrayal rumours in bombshell statement

The Swedish royal couple shared a statement on Instagram insisting rumours of a split are false. Victoria and Daniel said that while they do not normally comment on speculation, they had decided to speak out to protect their family.

In the statement, the Swedish royals said: “It has come to our knowledge that there is an extensive negative rumour spreading regarding our private relationship.

“Allegations are spreading about betrayal in the relationship and an impending divorce.

“In normal cases, we do not comment on rumours and speculation.

“But in order to protect our family, we want to make it clear, once and for all, that the rumours that are now spreading are completely unfounded.”

Victoria and Daniel personally signed off the statement with their names.

The couple also shared a smiling portrait of themselves together.

The post racked up more than 25,000 likes and almost 2,000 comments within an hour of being posted on Saturday morning.

The comments section was flooded with heart emojis from other Instagram users.

A Sussex fan account, harry_meghan_updates, blasted: “Some people need a better hobby in their lives.”

A fifth Instagram user, fio_e_tecido, added: “You are a great couple.”

Another person with the username zizabet urged the royal couple not to respond to the rumours.

They said: “If you normally do not comment, why comment now?

“Best ignore negative stories and focus on the good work you both have been doing.”

Victoria, the daughter of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, married Daniel in 2010.

The couple have two children Princess Estelle, nine, and Prince Oscar, five.
