Tyson Fury claims he’s ‘working hard’ to get his 57-YEAR-OLD dad John on the undercard of upcoming Dillian Whyte fight at Wembley – after Fury Sr previously insisted he would take on Mike Tyson in the ring

  • Tyson Fury has stated he is aiming for his father John to fight on his undercard
  • John, 57, could return to the ring just before Tyson’s bout against Dillian Whyte
  • Fury Sr, a former fighter, called out boxing icon and ‘king of old men’ Mike Tyson

Tyson Fury has claimed he is trying to arrange a fight for his 57-year-old father John as he prepares to face Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium.

Undefeated heavyweight Tyson will finally face British rival Whyte on April 23 for the WBC title, but there could now be another Fury on the undercard of that bout.

The ‘Gypsy King’ also said back in February he was trying to get his dad back in the ring, but has now reiterated to the Unibet Lowdown that a potential fight for John could be coming soon.

The proposed bout would be on the undercard of his upcoming clash with Dillian Whyte

He said: ‘We’re still working on that.

‘(Promoter) Frank (Warren) is working very hard behind the scenes, it’s not been announced but I’m just going to give you a little sneaky preview.

‘Big John, trying to get him on the undercard. So yeah, don’t be surprised.’

When asked if Fury Sr could fight promoter Eddie Hearn, Fury added: ‘No. My dad would chin Eddie Hearn in one round, within 30 seconds.’

No fights on the undercard have been announced as yet, though American prospect Jared Anderson, 22, is reportedly flying to the UK to spar with Fury so could be involved.

John, once a boxer himself, called out legendary former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson when ‘Iron Mike’ returned to the ring for an exhibition bout in 2020.

He said: ‘I’ll fight Mike Tyson, he’s making a comeback. I know he mentions my boy’s name every five minutes, but here I am, John Fury is hiding from no man, not even the king of the old men Mike Tyson.

‘I will fight Mike Tyson; I will not be denied, I will die in a fight.’
