Nate Diaz has distanced himself from a potential boxing match with Jake Paul, calling himself a ‘real fighter’.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer and his brother Logan have put on a series of lucrative bouts with ex-UFC stars and even Floyd Mayweather.

After Jake Paul’s knockout win in his rematch with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, he called out Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.

He said: ‘Masvidal and Nate Diaz, y’all are some b****** for leaving this arena, cause I know you don’t want that s***.

‘I’ll take out both of y’all next, just get out of your contract with daddy Dana and I’m a f*** them up too.’

Diaz has now taken to Instagram, bizarrely extending an olive branch of friendship while also mocking the Paul brothers for taking easy fights.

The Stockton fighter wrote: ‘The Paul sisters hired this security team to make sure I wouldn’t get to them, like I was actually trying too, but it’s alll good with u guys I don’t take this fight thang with u2 serious.

‘You guys playing boxing with wrestlers who can’t box or lil ass Floyd and that’s not cool bruh but it’s good I’m a real fighter from the real fight game so don’t trip so hard when you see me fellas let’s just be friends it’s good.’

Diaz made headlines for the mischief he caused in the crowd at the Paul vs Woodley event, faking a punch against an MMA fighter who was holding a tray full of beer which he threw in the air as he flinched.

The footage was captured on camera and went viral with fans loving the antics synonymous with the Californian.

Diaz has one fight remaining on his UFC contract and the 36-year-old could explore his options next year.

A trilogy clash with Conor McGregor would be a hugely lucrative way to bow out of top level MMA but the organisation may yet tie him down to a new deal.

While under contract, it is highly unlikely that the UFC will allow either Diaz or Masvidal to fight in a boxing match against either of the Paul brothers.

Tommy Fury, who pulled out of the recent scheduled fight due to illness and a broken rib, is desperate to rearrange their bout.

His representatives have made contact with the younger Paul in a bid to organise a bout for spring next year.
