What is a Met Office red warning?
Much of England and Wales will be under an amber wind warning on Friday, but a select area of the UK will also be under a red wind warning.
Storm Eunice is expected to bring wind gusts of about 70 to 80mph inland, but up to 90mph could be possible near the coasts.
A red warning is a severe alert, and in the case of Storm Eunice, the Met Office is warning there is a risk of flying debris causing “danger to life”.
Damage to buildings and homes, uprooted trees, widespread travel disruption and power cuts are also likely.
Large waves and beach material could also be thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and homes, and may also cause flooding of coastal properties.
