Ex-Daily Mirror editor and Good Morning Britain Host Piers Morgan, 56, has taken to social media to offer his birthday wishes to the Duchess of Cambridge. Writing on Twitter and Instagram, Mr Morgan said: “Happy 40th, Kate.
“You’re a wonderful asset to the Royal Family.”
The comment accompanied a photo of a smiling Kate wearing a beautiful red dress, which was taken by Paolo Roversi and uploaded by Kensington Palace to mark the Duchess’ 40th birthday.
The post was warmly received on both social media platforms having amassed 18,000 likes on Twitter and a further 55,000 on Instagram.
Users on both social media platforms responded to Mr Morgan’s post in agreement.

Mr Morgan, who has since joined the Sun as a columnist and is set to appear on upcoming television channel TalkTV, has long been a champion of the Duchess.
He described her as a “proper Duchess” after her performance at the recent Christmas carol concert and even shared a candid photo of Kate and Prince William, 39, when the Cambridges celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary.

Mr Morgan remains active on social media despite leaving ITV’s morning programme in March 2021.
He even revealed he would be returning to the frontline with the Sun on his Twitter account with a video.
During the clip, Mr Morgan said: “Illiberal liberals, narcissistic celebrities, hypocritical politicians, virtue-signalling junior members of the Royal Family, your worst nightmare, I’m afraid, I’m back.”
In his first column, Mr Morgan lambasted Boris Johnson, 57, and even called the Prime Minister a “shambles”.

In what reads like an open letter to Mr Johnson, he added: “Let’s be frank: You’ve destroyed much of that trust in just two disastrous years, and many of those people who broke the habit of a lifetime to vote Tory because they admired your ‘Let’s get Brexit done!’ chutzpah are now so disillusioned, they’re telling pollsters they’ll never support you again.”
Morgan concluded: “Stop being a shambles, Boris, and start getting more things done, or admit that being Prime Minister is simply too much for you and let someone else do it — before the party takes that decision for you.
